Gail Stewart is an artist based in San Diego, California. Ms. Stewart is the daughter of noted potter and painter David Stewart, long-time assistant to the late Marguerite Wildenhain. As an apprentice of her father, Ms. Stewart also studied under Marguerite Wildenhain at the Pond Farm artists’ colony in California’s Russian River Valley from 1973 through 1983. The colony inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, was home to Wildenhain and served as an elite artist community hosting artists from across the world from the mid 1940's until 1985.
